Specie comunissima lungo le coste del Salento, gli esemplari possono essere osservati guardando sotto pietre. Tra i Chitoni più grandi, possono essere lunghi anche qualche cm. Come si vede dalle foto la specie è fortemente variabile sia nelle dimensioni che nei colori.
